    If you've stopped taking plaquenil, did you start getting. Plaquenil might affect the eyes, the retina, why those of us taking Plaquenil are followed by an ophthalmologist and also have visual field tests every 6 months or once a year. If there are changes, then Plaquenil is stopped. Like bubbles wrote, Plaquenil stays in the body for a while. Has your friend's doctor discussed other meds to take?
